Clients ask me all the time, when is the best time to photograph my baby for a newborn session. My first answer is typically within the first two weeks. In most cases baby is still sleepy and easily curled into those cute poses you see. But the real answer is, even if you miss those first two weeks, just get it done as soon as you can. Babies can still be photographed at any age. And many times you can still get those newborn type poses even at three to six weeks.

The other question I get is when are the best times for milestone sessions. This again can vary, but I suggest at 3 or 4 months, 6 to 8 months (or whenever they are sitting) and of course that One year milestone or cake smash session.

As a newborn and children's photographer, there is not much I love more than to see baby throughout those milestones. It is so amazing to see how they grow and change during the first 12 months especially. As a parent, I can also tell you how nice it is to look back at those times in your baby's life when they are graduating high school or college or getting ready to move out. Things at that time you thought you could never forget, a photograph can bring it all back to you in an instant.

With phone cameras and technology today, parents are very lucky to have many pictures of their children growing up. And that is priceless. The thing that I think makes professional portraits so wonderful is how the small details are captured so beautifully. And the fact that you are more likely to print a professional image. So whether they are a newborn, cutting their first tooth, sitting up or turning one, there is never a bad time to schedule a milestone photoshoot!

If you are ready for one, contact me! I would love to meet you!
